Dhamma School

Nurturing the next generation through Buddhist education, values, and community.

About Our Dhamma School

The Dhamma School at Virginia Bouddha Vihar provides Buddhist education for children and youth in a warm, welcoming environment. Children learn the teachings of the Buddha in an age-appropriate way, developing values of compassion, mindfulness, and generosity. Our dedicated teachers and monks work together to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable for every child.

What Children Learn

Our curriculum is designed to give children a well-rounded foundation in Buddhist teachings and culture:

  • Basic Buddhist teachings and the life of the Buddha.
  • Pali chants and their English meanings.
  • The Five Precepts and their application in daily life.
  • Mindfulness and meditation techniques for young people.
  • Bengali and Buddhist cultural traditions.
  • Stories from the Jataka Tales and Buddhist history.
